BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF UTTAR PRADESH STATE COMMISSION FOR BACKWARD CLASSES:
In the Constitution of India special facilities and reservation has been provided to backward classes, so that these classes can develop and their lifestyle can be level with other. For this as per the recommendation of V.P. Mandal Commission formed by Government of India 9 membered bench of Hon’ble High Court released its historical order in 1992 in “Indira Sahani vs Indian Association” that such tribunals or commission will be formed by each State Government and Government of India which will give their recommendation to the government to include or exclude the castes in Other Backward Class and to whom the government will normally be bound to accept.
Therefore, formation of a Standing Commission was approved by Hon'ble Governor, Uttar Pradesh through a GO No. 22/16/92 कार्मिक-2 dated 09 March 1993 for giving recommendations after considering the inclusion of Other Backward Classes in the list of Backward Classes for permissible reservation in state-owned and other services and its related complaints. This Commission was named as “Uttar Pradesh State Commission For Backward Classes ”. This Commission came into existence from September 1993 when Hon’ble Chairman and Hon’ble Members took their charge in the Commission.
